फिल्मः एक मिनट से अनेक मिनट। तो फिर माईक्रो फिल्म क्या है..?

         फिल्म, एक मिनट की हो या एक्सो अस्सी मिनट की, वह कहानी कहने का माध्यम है. और सबकी एक कहानी है। सबके पास एक कहानी है, जिसको वो परदे पर लाना चाहता है. फिल्में भारत में हो या विदेश में, सबकी शुरूआत लघु फिल्म (short film) से ही हुई थी. first Film ever, filmed in 1878 by Edward Muybridge was Galloping Horse. The Horse in Motion is a series of cabinet cards by Eadweard Muybridge, including six cards that each show a sequential series of six to twelve "automatic electro-photographs" depicting the movement of a horse. एडवर्ड मुयब्रिज द्वारा १८७८ में फिल्माई गई पहली फिल्म गैलपिंग हॉर्स थी। द हॉर्स इन मोशन, एडवेर्ड मुयब्रिज द्वारा कैबिनेट कार्ड की एक श्रृंखला है, जिसमें छह कार्ड शामिल हैं, जिनमें से प्रत्येक घोड़े की गति को दर्शाते हुए छह से बारह "स्वचालित इलेक्ट्रो-फोटोग्राफ" की अनुक्रमिक श्रृंखला दिखाते हैं।

  भारतीय सिनेमा के जनक दादा साहेब फालके ने पहली फिल्म भी इसी तरह बनाई गई थी. वो एक मटर के पौधे को हर रोज एक महीने तक शूट करते रहे और इसकी एक फिल्म तैयार की। यह उनकी पहली फिल्म रही, जिसका नाम उन्होंने ‘अंकुराची वध’ रखा। जल्द ही उन्हें निवेशक भी मिल गए, फिर एक अखबार के जरिए उन्होंने अपनी टीम के लिए एड निकाले और हरिश्चंद्र की कहानी पर एक फिल्म बनाने का फैसला किया। दादा साहेब फालके ने २६ लघु फिल्म का सर्जन किया.

As per Rules & Regulations of Mumbai Film Festival, The minimum duration of a feature length film (fiction or documentary) should be 50 minutes or more. मुंबई फिल्म महोत्सव के नियमों और विनियमों के अनुसार, एक फीचर लेंथ फिल्म (फिक्शन या डॉक्यूमेंट्री) की न्यूनतम अवधि 50 मिनट या उससे अधिक होनी चाहिए।

As per censor board india, Any film of length more than 2000 metres (35 mm) is long Video version: any film of more than 72 minutes is long. Films which are less than above length / duration are short. भारत के सेंसर बोर्ड के अनुसार, 2000 मीटर (35 मिमी) से अधिक लंबाई की कोई भी फिल्म लंबी होती है वीडियो संस्करण: ७२ मिनट से अधिक की कोई भी फीचर फिल्म होती है। इस लंबाई/अवधि से कम की फिल्में छोटी (लघु फिल्म) होती हैं।

अब जो सवाल होग वह यह है की तो फिर माइक्रो फिल्म क्या है..? There is a category of film that is even shorter: micro short films (also known as super short films or short short films). हम ऐसा भी कह सकते है की, छोटी या लघु लघुफिल्म को माईक्रो फिल्म कह सकते है..! उसकी लंबाई पांच या छे मिनट से कम होती है. फिर भी जब लंबाई की बात को विशिष्ट तौर पर देखा जाये तो ज्यादा से ज्यादा ३ मिनट लंबाई की फिल्म माईक्रो फिल्म मानी जाती है. उसमें भी ज्यादातर तो १ मिनट लंबाई की ही होती है..! और लंबी फिल्म की बात कर तो १९८७ की फिल्म Resan (The Journey) की लंबाई 873 min (14 hr, 33 min) है. भारत में १९८८ में बनी Tamas (Television Film) 298 mins, २००५ की तमिल फिल्म Thavamai Thavamirundhu   275 mins, २००३ की हिंदी फिल्म LOC Kargil 255 mins और १९७० की हिंदी फिल्म Mera Naam Joker की लंबाई 244 mins है.
